Privacy Policy

BookEar GO is an Android and Wear OS audiobook application and related website. This policy describes how BookEar GO handles information when you use the app, watch app, website, online catalog, support channels, advertising features, and Google Play purchases.

1. Scope and developer

This Privacy Policy applies to BookEar GO, including the Android phone app, compatible Wear OS app, bookeargo.com website, online catalog services, and related support. The developer currently publishes BookEar GO under the CatNap Digital developer identity. Privacy questions can be sent to support@bookeargo.com.

BookEar GO is under active development. Data practices will be updated here if app functionality or service providers materially change.

2. Information BookEar GO may process

Information you provide

If you contact support, BookEar GO may receive your email address, the content of your message, device/app details you choose to provide, screenshots, and other information you voluntarily include. Do not send passwords, payment-card numbers, private credentials, or copyrighted audiobook files unless specifically requested for a legitimate support purpose.

App and service request data

When the app or website communicates with online services, infrastructure providers may process technical information needed to deliver and secure the service. This can include IP address, request time, app or browser information, requested resource, network/security events, and similar operational metadata.

Listening and library information

BookEar GO may store listening position, downloaded-book state, favorites, bookmarks, playback preferences, and similar library information locally on your device so core listening features work. BookEar GO does not use this local listening information to build its own advertising profile. Some third-party SDKs or platform services may process technical or interaction data as described in the Advertising and Service Providers sections. If a future BookEar GO feature synchronizes library information through an online account or cloud service, this policy will be updated before that feature is released.

Phone and watch communication

BookEar GO can communicate between your Android phone and compatible Wear OS watch to support user-requested device features such as moving supported audiobook content or playback state between your devices. This is initiated for app functionality and is not a sale of your personal information.

3. Advertising and consent

The free version of BookEar GO may display advertising in selected parts of the phone experience. BookEar GO uses Google advertising services, including the Google Mobile Ads SDK, and may use Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request consent or provide privacy choices where required.

Depending on your region, device settings, consent choices, and Google's configuration, Google and its advertising partners may process information such as advertising identifiers, IP address, device/app information, interaction data, and diagnostics for ad delivery, fraud prevention, measurement, and related purposes. BookEar GO does not sell personal information to advertisers.

Advertising is not intended to appear in Wear OS playback, local audiobook playback, or core transfer flows. Users with an active BookEar GO Pro entitlement may receive an ad-free experience as described in the app.

4. Google Play purchases

BookEar GO may offer a one-time Google Play purchase for BookEar GO Pro. Payment information is processed by Google Play; BookEar GO does not receive your full payment-card number. BookEar GO may receive or process purchase-related information such as product identifier, purchase status, order or transaction references, and purchase tokens as needed to verify, restore, provide, or revoke the purchased entitlement.

Refunds, reversals, and revoked purchases may change the related entitlement. Google Play's own privacy and payment terms also apply to transactions processed by Google.

5. Online Library and audiobook content

The Online Library may retrieve audiobook catalog information, covers, chapters, audio files, or related metadata from BookEar GO services and third-party public-domain sources. Requests for catalog and media content can generate ordinary technical network logs at the providers involved. BookEar GO currently focuses on public-domain or otherwise authorized catalog content and does not require users to submit audiobook files to the public service.

6. Service providers

BookEar GO may use third parties to operate the app and website. Depending on the feature, these providers may process information on BookEar GO's behalf or under their own terms. Current categories include:

  • Google Play — app distribution, purchase processing, entitlement-related services, and platform security.
  • Google Mobile Ads / UMP — advertising, consent management, fraud prevention, and measurement where advertising is enabled.
  • Cloud and infrastructure providers — website delivery, application APIs, catalog delivery, storage, security, and abuse prevention.
  • Email service providers — delivery of messages sent to or from BookEar GO support.
  • Public audiobook/data providers — catalog metadata and media made available under applicable public-domain or licensing terms.

BookEar GO may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce rights, investigate fraud or abuse, or protect users and services.

7. Security

BookEar GO uses reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information handled by the service. Network communications are intended to use encrypted transport where supported. No internet, device, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Retention and deletion

BookEar GO keeps information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was processed, including operating and securing the service, handling support, maintaining purchase records, preventing abuse, and meeting legal obligations.

  • Local listening data can generally be removed by clearing app data, deleting downloads within the app, or uninstalling the app, subject to device behavior.
  • Support correspondence may be retained as reasonably necessary to resolve requests, maintain business records, or prevent abuse.
  • Purchase and transaction records may need to be retained for accounting, fraud prevention, entitlement verification, dispute handling, or legal requirements.
  • Operational and security logs are retained for limited periods consistent with service operation, security, and provider practices.

BookEar GO does not currently require a BookEar GO user account for the core app experience. If account creation is introduced later, the app and website will provide an account-deletion method as required before that feature is released.

9. Your privacy choices

Where required, the app may provide privacy choices for advertising through Google's consent tools. Device and Google account settings may also offer controls relating to advertising identifiers, permissions, purchases, and app data. You may contact BookEar GO to ask a privacy question or request assistance regarding information you have directly provided to BookEar GO.

10. Children

BookEar GO is not specifically directed to children and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children through a BookEar GO account system. Store age ratings and target-audience declarations are managed separately through Google Play and may be updated as the app is reviewed.

11. International processing

Service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Privacy and data-protection laws can differ between jurisdictions.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated to reflect changes in BookEar GO, service providers, law, or platform requirements. The “Last updated” date identifies the latest revision.

13. Contact

Privacy questions and requests can be sent to support@bookeargo.com.
